Genius! I don't know why I didn't think of this!!
Melt your candles on a candle warmer, pour the melted wax in an ice cube tray, set it in the freezer for about 20 minutes to harden....hello Scentsy refills!!!!
I've even gotten rid of candles because I switched over to Scentsy. Darn it! Make sure to save those candles & recycle them! Maybe I'll try a thrift store :)
Idea found {here}.
awesome! I have so many candles I don't use. but I need to get a scentsy for this to work...lol
ReplyDeleteYep! I saw (and pinned) this idea on pinterest, and just tried it myself. I don't have a candle warmer, so i just stuck them in the oven on low until they were melted. They work great!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I just have a cheap-y dollar store burner to melt mine in!
This is amazing! My sister got me a sensy for christmas but the waxes are a little pricey so I haven't gotten any more smells now I can buy them cheap at Walmart and make my own thank you!
ReplyDeleteBurning anything but Scentsy wax in a Scentsy burner voids the warranty. Most cheapy candles only have a small scent load so once you've melted it for the warmer, you've already used up most of the scent and you will be just melting unscented wax.
ReplyDeleteReally the Scentsy wax isn't too expensive, especially when you can get 6 bars for 25.00....hook up with a friend and split this deal...that makes it 3 bars for 12.50....that ends up being a great deal and you don't have to hassel with all the melting and freezing of candles that won't give you much scent anyway :-)...
That's what I was thinking. :-)

Deletelol...sounds like someone sells scentsy!
ReplyDeletelove it!! I think they do too
DeleteI agree with Anonymous
ReplyDeleteScentsy IS expensive. Don't let that obvious sales rep try to talk you out of saving a buck. We're all struggling, and things like this help.
ReplyDeleteI have found that the Wal-mart refills work LONGER than Scentsy. I don't have a Scentsy warmer either...I bought mine in a tobacco store for CHEAP.
ReplyDeleteWalmart sells the home interior brand of wax warmers for 15.00 and they work just as good as the scentsy warmers. They also sell the wax cubes to melt in them for 2.00 so that only comes out to 17.00 a room
ReplyDeletecorrection the brand is better homes and gardens not home interior
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna be honest, I used to sell Scentsy & it got too expensive for me! I also noticed the scents started to change, they don't last at all anymore. I say go with the Walmart brand. They have cute warmers too.
ReplyDeleteI have a Scentsy and once I used up the wax, I went to WalMart and bought the Scent Sationals brand for $2.00 a pack (6 cubes)love them!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you melt the wax if you are concerned about the smell deteriorating add a few drops of essential oils to it when it is in liquid form. Helps to keep the smell going! :)
ReplyDeleteI kept the plastic containers that the scentcy was came in and melt the was then put the wax in the plastic
ReplyDeleteThis is an idea to "Recycle Candles" that you don't use anymore. It doesn't really matter if the smell doesn't "last" because at the end of the day, you weren't gonna use those candles again anyway. This way you don't waste your candles. I think it's clever.
ReplyDeleteFood for thought:
ReplyDeleteMost of the lady's that I've met that sell Scentsy do it to provide a little extra income to there families. A lot of them are stay at home or single moms that use the Scentsy opportunity to finance or supplement their household income.
I am a firm believer in recycling, along with you get what you pay for, and help a sister's out values!!!!
If your finances allow, donate your unwanted candles to needy charity to help them raise money. Support your local independent candle, jewelry, or makeup etc. girl struggling to make ends meet.
I encourage you to refrain from purchasing things that are supplied by Walmart, Target, And Kmart that you can get from a neighbor.
The Small independents of direct sales marketing companies need our support. I think the the Executives and upper level Staff of chain retail stores are well of enough that they need not have our business for these items that should be going to a neighbor, a friend, a familiar face and/or a loved family member.
And yes I am in the direct sales Business, and very proud of that!!!! Direct sales has kept food on the table, gas in the tank, and the heat working in the house.
So please think about what you are going to post in a public forum before you click the Publish button.
So if the melted candle wax won't give off any scent, what about adding essential oils to the melted wax before freezing?
ReplyDeleteI agree too... yes, I DO sell scentsy, and yes melting other wax in the warmers void the warranty. I'm not sure why $5 is expensive for the product though..... I would much rather spend money on wax refills than to purchase a candle that leaves fumes and soot in the room, the walls and the lungs. I had stopped using candles way before I started selling Scentsy for that very reason, and I LOVE candles! Small price to pay for wax that is safe in my opinion. The idea is a great one, and I encourage you to use it for other warmers who don't have that warranty and get rid of the flame altogether! :) Your personal safety in mind! :)
ReplyDelete90% of Candles are toxic...read the ingredients...two that are not are beeswax and soy! In saying that a safer and healthier solution, is a essential oil burner. has healing properties and is actually good for your household and safe for children and pets. You get what you pay for, buy cheap candles or waxes and your buying a toxic mixture, that's why they are cheap do your research you will never burn another toxic candle again.
ReplyDeleteFor crying out loud, it's a post to save money. if you disagree, shut up and move on.
ReplyDeleteLOve being creative. try anything once nice post. RAzzy
ReplyDeleteI just thought of the same thing. I pulled out all of my candle making items, old Bath & Body Works candles, wax, etc. I had one of those things, which I thought was a coffee mug warmer, for twenty years now. It works perfectly. I was just telling my daughter that first of all, it heats the wax and the glue on the label & the bottom label peels right off along with the one on the side. I'm pouring the old wax through a $1.00 strainer into either a glass jar or an ice cube tray with extra oil in each one. Having a blast and getting all of this mess cleaned up and reused.
